Committees

The South DeKalb Business Association, Inc., has a various committees that assist the organization in ensuring the programs and activities undertaken are successful. We welcome members to serve as a chairperson or member of a committee after they have joined. If you would like to learn more about requirements and expectations of committee members, please inquire with a team member of the board.

Our committees range include:

  • Programs – Develops informational programs that will provide opportunities for businesses to improve their operation and delivery of service, with the approval of the Board of Directors.  Selects and coordinates speakers, setup/cleanup for meetings.
  • Finance – Works with the Treasurer with creating budgets, reports and sending out renewal letters and annual invoices.
  • Membership – Assist with recruiting new members and ensuring they receive their New Member Letter/New Member Packets. Also, responsible for signing members in at meetings and other events.  Assist with ensuring the membership directory is current on the SDBA website.
  • Nominating – Develops a slate of Board members prior to elections.  Presents the slate to the general membership.  Develops and distributes nomination forms to members, as well as the final Slate.  Coordinates luncheon for outgoing board members.  In addition, this committee is responsible for selecting a Member of the Month to be featured on the website and recognized at any events held during that month.  Also responsible for selecting a Member of the Year to be recognized at our End of the Year Celebration in December.
  • Marketing/Promotions/Public Relations – Assist with marketing and promoting the SDBA to increase public awareness.  Develops techniques to promote the viability of member’s businesses.
